A Brief Message of Hope - My Message

A Brief Message of Hope

My religious upbringing was ecumenical ; Protestant,Catholic Charismatic, and Born-Again fundamentalism.

One fall evening, I was studying for school the next day, in a church library in Newburgh, New York. My dad and brother were upstairs for the confirmation classes; there was a knock at the door. Some local kids wanted to take a look at the books. I let them in and went back to studying for school. One of the kids said something to me and as I turned my head something struck my left temporal lobe area. I refused to go to the hospital.

I was undiagnosed for 8 years and took useless tegratol for another 10 years.

My seizures were in no way a pleasant experience. I would stare ahead and feel/think/believe that I was about to lose all life or existence and never exist again. Then suddenly I would become unaware of what I was doing or saying.

I believe God was watching out over me.

Sometimes they would occur when I would be driving somewhere in my car and find myself at a completely different location after several minutes.

I thank God that no one was ever injured by these seizures.

After slowly recovering from nowhere, I would experience severe waves of depression until sleeping at night. I estimate I had 2,000 seizures at that time.

I believe that: it is not in spite of where I have been, or because of where I have not been, but because of God's love, that I am who I am today.

God does work in mysterious ways.

Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life.

I hope you believe in Him also.
